Mozambican Study Tour.

Delegates from Mozambique who participated in a comprehensive training program covering barista techniques, cupping, roasting, packaging, and other fundamental coffee skills have successfully graduated from the Coffee Training Center (CTC). These individuals are actively engaged in various roles within Mozambique’s coffee industry, spanning from cultivation to various value chains. Alongside them, students representing diverse sectors such as major coffee companies, associations, institutions, and private training programs also completed their training.
The graduation ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms. Aurelia Calabro, Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Institute (UNIDO). In her address, Ms. Calabro expressed her satisfaction with the significant contributions made by the center, which was established with UNIDO’s financial backing, to the coffee sector within a short span of time. She emphasized that the commencement of international training programs marks a significant advancement for sectoral development, fostering not only formal education but also valuable exchange of experiences. Ms. Calabro underscored the importance of involving developing countries like Mozambique in coffee cultivation as a pivotal step toward accelerating future industry growth.
Dr. Adugna, representing the Ethiopian government and his official office, conveyed heartfelt appreciation for the continuous support extended by UNIDO. He noted with gratitude the increasing participation of individuals from various countries, including Ethiopia, in the center’s coffee training programs.
The Mozambican trainees expressed their gratitude for the wealth of knowledge gained during their tenure and affirmed their commitment to applying their newfound expertise upon returning to their homeland. They extended their thanks to the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority and UNIDO for their unwavering support
