On July 11, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, in partnership with UNIDO, celebrated the graduation of 46 students for the 7th time who completed by coffee Cupping courses at the Coffee Training Center. The ceremony, hosted at the center, marked the culmination of their intensive training in their respective fields.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Mr. Shafi Omar, Deputy Director General and Head of Marketing Department, Mr. Tagay Nooru, Deputy Director General and Head of Coffee, Tea and Spice Development Department, management menbers of the Authority, Teachers and graduates of the Authority.
Mr. Shafi umer, Deputy Director of the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, presided over the ceremony, extending his congratulations to the graduating class. He praised their high level of competence and highlighted their exceptional qualities, including professionalism and discipline.
During opening speech of Mr. Shafi said that the office is carrying out activities that can take the coffee sector to a higher level in view of the mission given to it. He explained that the lack of trained manpower and the quality of coffee are among the problems cited as problems in the sector, so the center is playing an important role in filling this gap.
Following this, a certificate awarding ceremony was held for the students trained by the center in coffee tasting, and prizes were awarded to the students who excelled in their results.
